I’ve been on steemit for a minute and i agree with a lot of your points but I still think the platform is worth peoples time, they’re still in the formative stages and theres always a workaround for everyone to get involved.

In your case I’d say stick to medium and simply connect your medium account with your steemit account via share2steem and it will automatically cross post for you, saving your time and helping you stay active on both platforms.
